- Why do you need a resume?
- Resume's/Curriculum Vitae's are imperative in todays market place... why? well they are your silent sales person when you are applying for a job in todays market.
There are sometimes hundreds of applicants for a single position being advertised and a resume allows these potential employers the opportunity to screen applicants before conducting interviews. If 100 people applied for a position, the employer may reduce this to a list of 20 people to call and conduct a phone interview and then from this list conduct only 5 or so actual face to face interviews. This is a ration of only 5% of applicants actually getting to the interview process... Your resume can be the difference of getting a phone interview or now... - Can you make your own resume?
- Yes. Of course you can do your own resume. You don't have to pay someone to do your resume, but it may pay for you to do a little research in order to ensure you have created the best silent salesperson you can in order to ensure you will get a higher chance of getting to the interview stage.
You would do best to ensure you include some minimum information such as:
- Your objective
- Your employment history from most recent to oldest with dates and locations
- Your educational experiences including any out of school tuition or specialty training courses completed
- Your hobbies and personal interests, but keep it professional
- 2 referees with contact information, or simply type available upon request.
This is the core information that would be lease expected and should be on at least 2 pages. Remember to be concise in delivery though. - Why would you pay us to do your resume?
